Movie Ticket Rs. 170, Auto towards the Multiplex: Rs. 70, Sandwich at interval: Rs.45. Chocolate Pastry: Rs. 40, Ice Cream- Small Scoop: Rs. 65, Rice at Wangs Kitchen: Rs. 65, Coke: Rs. 45, Auto Back home: Rs. 120.
Total: Rs. 620 for an ordinary movie trip!
Whatsoever happened to the movies that I was watching with loads of fun with 20 bucks in my pocket?
The question is not whether I can afford it.The question is whether I was happy after it.
· I could have spent money on balloons for street kids, played with them on the beach.
· I could have given this to WWF and participated with them for an awareness/conservation of turtles at Kottivakkam beach.
· I could have bought a good book; I would have cherished reading it for at least a week.
· I could have taken a girl out for dinner at the beach restaurant and make her feel special. I would have felt good that I made somebody’s day.
Well, there are so many things that I could have done with six hundred bucks rather than going to this fateful movie. I hated it.
· I hated the story.
· I hated that women in the movie were made sexy and flashy and expose unnecessarily. Sensuality is ugly when there is no artistic sensibility.
· I hated sandwich because it was cold, mayonnaise had turned sour and it was tasteless.
· I hated to pay 45 bucks for a coke which is otherwise 10 bucks
· I hated the ugly and showy make up of girls at the mall.
There are so many things that money can’t buy – We better should realize it sooner than later.
Thankful for this experience, now I know, I need not be a billionaire to have some jolly good time in life.
